MAKEUP & HAIR
Joined with costume, to round my knowledge & skills of creating a character I studied period makeup & hair. Erika Okvist, BAFTA winner & HMU designer for Bridgerton, shared her extensive industry and technical knowledge - combined with history lessons to understand the authenticity & purpose behind creating our looks. Clare Buckett, professional hair & makeup artist for TV/Film and Bridal, approached her teaching in such a down to earth way that I was unafraid to face challenges, and instead excel through learning.
Studying Makeup & Hair has broadened my skillset, and helped me appreciate how both aspects blend together to accurately create a character.****FOR A MORE IN DEPTH LOOK AT MY PORTFOLIO, INC. Final Hairstyle: 80s inspired
at the end of our hair module, we were tasked with designing and executing our own style, with the skills we’ve learned. I chose to do an 80s style, as I thoroughly enjoyed using hot sticks to create tight ringlet curls. I wanted to add height and definition, expressing how loud and experimental the 80s was.
